HIE BLOG,
im finally back from cac camp. did you miss me during my absence? i missed my bed, computre, tv set, bathroom during those five days.
but i never regret the decision i made. it was definitely an eye-opener, considering this is my first uni camp i've attended. the lack of sleep was compensated by the fun and enjoyment during the night activities.
these are my ratings for the camp:
overall camp experience: 8.5/10 the activities were superb. the only activity i turned off was cluedo. haha. the best activity would be fright night. no doubt it lived up to its name of being scary and frightening. the experience couldn't have been better. some of my og mates thought i was so brave to volunteer as the first pair. but they didnt know that i suffer from stomachaches due to sheer nervousness & if i didnt enterfirst, i would be squating on the floor or rolling on the floor before my turn. yup it was bad. the first station at the usp's toilets was the 'ice-breaker' and the scariest. luckily my senior is a great partner! thumbsUP for him. he was very protective of me and knew how to fend of thoseghosts. haha. (: the second station was at some eerie stairway and some toilet again! it was almost as frightening as the first. but the ghosts were kind enough to back off from me wheni collapsed onto the floor. for the rest of the stations, i'd a new partner and he wasnt as great as the first. cuz he was senior too and he knew what would happen for every station. so there he waslaughing behind my back at my timidness. hahaha. i think i nearly suffocated him by tugging his collar too hardly. thinking back, i feel quite ashamed for being such a coward cuz i was so wary of everything. the third station was at this tunnel at some unused building. we had to walk through this lonnngggg & narrow path before we reached the end to perform some task for the'ghost'. it was quite hilarious cuz the ghosts didnt give us clear instructions and we're quite bluras to what to do. as for the fourth station, it was in one of the workshops in the engin building.luckily i pleaded with those ghosts not to grab my legs and they kindly spared me! haha. but i think i must have looked kinda silly for being so scared cuz that partner of mine was laughing at me outside the toilets with the rest of the ghosts, when i'd to enter the male toilet alone.
sleep experience: 0.5/10 with the 4 nights combined, i didnt get more than 10 hours sleep in total. the lack of sleep reallyaffected my memory which resulted in me having problems rmbing names or what happened earlierthe name. but a good thing is that we had a hostel room each to everyone of us. so there was lotsa of privacy compared to other camps i attended.
people experience: 7/10 some arguments broke up during the preparation of the dance performance, etc. it just destroys the team spirit and the camaraderie we built up. anyway i was quite taken aback by this group of male seniors who called themselves the 'shallow club'. shallow as seeing girls by their appearance.also, it was quite a culture shock by the things they did during the truth or dare game we played at indochina. it makes me wonder how honest and faithful a guy will be in university. hmmm. BUT most seniors, esp the girls are very nice and go all out to make us feel comfortable and make this camp as fun as it could be. it was nice engaging with some intellectual talk with beng. never fails to surprise me how complex his mind is.
food experience: 7/10 the camp food provided was not too bad. but during such camps, i would be more of tired thanhungry. so i didnt have appetite to finish up my food. that's why i lost about 2 kgs. i cant waitfor my appetite to return so that i can enjoy my buffet dinner this sat. (: also, the food providedfor the sp nite dinner at an alfresco dinning area in pasir ris beach was enjoyable. but i think i boremy sp so much till he couldnt be bothered to talk to me anymore. sorry sp! i really cant think ofany common topics. =/ so i ended up talking more to koon and praying hard that time will zippast faster.
exercise experience: 10/10 walk walk walk. stairs stairs stairs. these are the main things i can rmb. there were so much walking up and down all those stairs. other than that, the external hunt made us walk and run fromoutram park to raffles place to clarke quay. then clarke quay to esplanade to marina square tosuntec city. after which from the central national library to bugis street to somerset to heerento paragon and then back to nus. we only took mrt to outram park and back to nus. other thanthat it was mostly a foot race. the silly thing is that other teams were spending the time shoppinover at vivo or having some 3 hours long buffet while the rest of the teams, like mine are slogging hard forthe activity. it made us look so dumb. worse still, we ran so hard but still lost the race. haha.
cheer experience: 9/10 the ecstasy cheer is the epitome of our crazy and funky uni cheers can be. our dear kc, jason, can really shake ya. hahaha. but we do look kinda funny in that video clip with our cheer. haha.siao gi na! =P 'hai dai ah, hai dai. stainboy ah, stainboy.' cheer is cute too! heehs. all the songsand cheers are still resounding in my head. cant seem to get it out of my head.
in short, camp was fun! but one is enough. just experience what an uni camp will be like is more than sufficient. i find no need in joining so many camps, unless there are motives involved. justmy opinion. well im happy the camp is over and im back to my own world with new-found friends. (:
